What if I am a new patient?

You may have been referred to St David’s House by your GP, insurance company or chosen to contact us directly.  Our first priority will be to enquire about your current medical condition and make an appointment with the appropriate consultant to discuss your case.

What happens at my first appointment?

St David’s House is located within Sancta Maria Hospital in Swansea. On arrival at the hospital, you will be welcomed at the front desk and directed to our reception area. Here, the St David’s House administration team will note your arrival and will note your private insurance details where applicable.

What if I need an operation?

If an operation is required, your consultant will discuss suitable dates with you and make the admission arrangements right away with the Bookings Officer for the hospital.  Depending on your medical history, you will also be informed if you require a pre- operative assessment.

What about follow-up and rehabilitation?

Following your operation and stay at Sancta Maria Hospital, you will be asked to attend a follow up appointment with your consultant.  The St David’s House administration team will organise this.

How are fees and payments arranged?

For a price guide with regard to consultation fees, investigations and surgery, call the St David’s House administration team. The figures quoted are always estimates, based on the information provided by the patient.

I have health insurance. How do I arrange payment of fees?

Providing we have been furnished with your insurance details, we will send all invoices relating to consultation to your insurance company directly.

What if I don't have health insurance?

If you are uninsured and are liable for your consultations and surgery costs- you will be asked to settle your consultation fee on the day and will be provided with a receipt by the administrative staff at St David’s House.
